What song was in your head when you woke up today?
I ask because I woke up around 6 with the Fraggle Rock song

Dance your cares away,
Worry's for another day.
Let the music play,
Down at Fraggle Rock.

Work your cares away,
Dancing's for another day.
Let the Fraggles play,
We're Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Boober, Red.

Dance your cares away,
Worry's for another day.
Let the music play,
Down at Fraggle Rock.

Then when I woke up at 8, I had Pantera running through my mind

Now a new look in my eyes my spirit rise
Forget the past
Present tense works and lasts
Got shit on
Pissed on
Spit on
Stepped on
Fucked with
Pointed at by lesser men

New life in place of old life
Unscarred by trials

A new level of confidence and power

Demanding plea for unity between us all --
United stand
Death before divided fall
In mock military order
Vulgar
Power
Impatient
Because time is shorter

No fucking surrender
Can't lose
Life kills

Now I can't help but wonder what happened in those two hours

2. Heroes and Villains - Beach Boys
I've been in this town so long that back in the city,
I've been taken for lost and gone and unknown for a long, long time.
Fell in love years ago with an innocent girl,
From the Spanish and Indian home home of the heroes and villains.

Once at night, Catillian squared the fight,
And she was right in the rain of the bullets that eventually brought her
down.
But she's still dancing in the night, unafraid,
Of what a dude'll do in a town full of heroes and villains.

Heroes and villains, just see what you've done
Heroes and villains, just see what you've done

Stand or fall, I know there shall be peace in the valley,
And it's all an affair of my life with the heroes and villains.

In the cantina, margaritas keep the spirit high.
There I watched her, she spun around and wound in the warmth,
Her body fanned the flame of the dance.
Dance, Margarita, don't you know that I'm in love with you
Dance
You're under arrest!

My children were raised, you know they suddenly rise.
They started slow, long ago, head-to-toe, healthy, wealthy, and often wise.
At three-score and five, I'm very much alive.
I've still got the jive to survive with the heroes and villains.

9. Arthur theme song
My kids were watching Arthur

Every day when you're
Walking down the street,
Everybody that you meet
Has an original point of view.
And I say - Hey! (Hey!)
What a wonderful kind of day
If we could learn to work and play
And get along with each other.

You gotta listen to your heart,
Listen to the beat,
Listen to the rhythm,
The rhythm of the street.
Open up your eyes.
Open up your ears.
Get together
And make things better
By working together.

Ziggy Marley did the original take on that ditty but I think they have changed the recording.

It's a simple message,
And it comes from the heart.
Believe in yourself,
For that's the place to start.

And I say - Hey! (Hey!)
What a wonderful kind of day
If we could learn to work and play
And get along with each other.

Hey! What a wonderful kind of day. Hey!
What a wonderful kind of day. Hey!

20. Don't ask me why, but...
The Scotsman
(Mike Cross)

Oh a Scotsman tried and true left the bar one evening fair
And one could tell by how he walked he'd had more than his share
He stumbled round til he could no longer keep his feet
Then he stumbled off unto the grass to sleep beside a stream.

Ring-ding diddle diddle aye-dee-oh
Ring di-diddle-aye-oh
Oh he stumbled off unto the grass to sleep beside a stream.

Well about that time two young and lovely ladies happened by
And one said to the other, with a twinkle in her eye
"Oh see yon sleepy Scotsman, so strong and handsome built?"
"Well I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath their kilts."

Ring-ding diddle diddle aye-dee-oh
Ring di-diddlee-aye-oh
"Oh I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath their kilts."

Well they snuck up to that sleeping Scotsman, quiet as could be
And they lifted up his kilt a little bit so they might see
And there for them to behold, beneath that Scottish skirt,
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth.

Ring-ding diddle diddle aye-dee-oh
Ring di-diddlee-aye-oh
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth.

Well they marvelled for a moment, then one said, "We must be gone."
"Well let's leave a present for our friend before we move along."
As a gift, they left a blue silk ribbon tied into a bow
Around the bonnie sword the Scotsman's kilt beneath did show.

Ring-ding diddle diddle aye-dee-oh
Ring di-diddlee-aye-oh
Around the bonnie sword the Scotsman's kilt beneath did show.

Well the Scotsman a little later, he awoke to nature's call
And as he lifted up his kilt, what he got and what he saw,
And in a strangled voice, he said, "I can't believe me eyes!"
"I don't know where ye been, me lad, but I see ye took first prize!"

Ring-ding diddle diddle aye-dee-oh
Ring di-diddlee-aye-oh
"I don't know where ye been, me lad, but I see ye took first prize!"

Was playing it in the car last night at holiday volume, and now it's stuck in my skull. But I like the song, what with Ry Cooder's slide guitar and the Captain's growling.
