Update on my pot with the burned rice
Simmering the pot with salt and vinegar worked pretty well.

The pot has been upgraded from "throw it away" to "use it to cook the dog food in."

Thanks for the advice. :D

2. Use a glass pot when cooking rice.
Never sticks.

3. If you just soak it overnight in ice water it will wipe clean.
Trust me - I've done this countless times with steel, aluminum, and cast iron. It always works.

6. Do you do this in the fridge, in the freezer
or on the counter?

8. Just on the counter (or stove top)
Load it with ice, add water, and ignore it.

7. Ah. I think stainless is naturally sticky.
Especially frying pans.
Give me cast iron.

9. Stainless, though, is excellent for soups and chai.
I use my big stainless stockpot (12-qt) for making chai and my 3-qt for making just enough soup for a couple of days :)
