Imagine Pierce Brosnan watching "Casino Royale"
The guy spent a decade begging the Bond producers to accord him an intelligent spy thriller, yet his movies got progressively worse. Denise Richards, invisible cars, robo-suits. We're talkin' Roger Moore on steroids.

Now imagine him watching Casino Royale. Poor bloke probably came close to an aneurysm.

2. He just got in at the wrong time
These things seem to go in cycles. Moore = camp, Dalton = serious, Brosnan = camp again, Craig = serious. What's ironic is than Eon wanted Brosnan back in 1987 but had to settle for Dalton because of Brosnan's Remington Steele contract. By the time Brosnan was available, Eon had decided it was time for camp again.

4. Yeah, he can rest on his "Die Another Day" laurels

And while he's doing that, he won't have to agonize over the critics praising Casino Royale as the best Bond in decades.

Casino Royale made quite a few Top Ten lists that year--a first for a Bond thriller.
