Something happen on my street, had to call 911.
Not sure what happen but somebody was injured and laying on the street.

It might be gang related I think, the two guys standing over him were very young looking.

Don't know what happen but the police are still on the street blocking any traffic.

What a night.

1. Wow!
Stay safe and behind doors. Or will the police want a statement from you?

2. I am safe.
I didn't see anything but the two guys standing over somebody, they looked like friends.

We do have gangs out her so it might be gang related, not sure.

Had to do something, somebody was hurt.

I will check for blood in the morning.

The cops are gone now but they did stay for about 30 minutes.

The fire department loaded the injured person and took off.

3. Hopefully the injured guy will be ok.

And I'm glad you're safe. I complain about the suburb I live in because it's so boring, but I'm glad crime rate out here is some of the lowest in Houston.

4. We have a quiet neighborhood, things happen.
Gangs are all over Houston.

I don't know if it is gang related, just guessing.

Couldn't just let the person lay there without help.

If it is gang related we will know soon enough.

What we have a lot of out here is thefts. People are always leaving valuable stuff in their cars, and they get broken into.
Here's a great site to see what's goin' on: http://houstoncrimemaps.com

6. I am very glad you got involved enough to call for help.
But I'm glad you stayed inside and stayed safe too.

I hope that kid is okay. :(

It is very sad that so many kids think that joining a gang is the best, safest, and most productive thing they can do with their time. That says a whole lot of horrible things about our communities. x(

There are anti-gang programs out there that work, but they are expensive, and they don't get funding because they are not punitive. All the money goes for law and order crackdowns that just round people up and lock them away. But that kind of shit just criminalizes people more and makes problems worse. :(
