I am DIEBOLD!!
:D

I'm election judging for our little town-wide election in April. We're electing some new/returning town council members, and voting on whether to repeal term limits (we did the math, we'll run out of eligible candidates soon if we don't).

This should be a blast... around 500 registered voters, real honest-to-goodness oak ballot box with a lock on it. All paper ballots, all hand-counted by yours truly (part of a team of three).

Got the big stack-o-instructions today. Includes such gems as the Challenge Questions to be asked of a voter if anyone challenges their right to vote.

"Are you a citizen of the United States?"

"Are you 18 years of age or over to the best of your knowledge and belief?"

"What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?"

etc. etc.

Looks like a blast. Plus, the town is buying me lunch. And the final word from the town clerk was "No, you cannot wear a nametag that says 'CHAD'".

2. Have fun!
My dad election judged this week in IL. He had a really long day -- 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. So get a good night's sleep the day before!

3. Good going, Robb.
I suspect you'll be running that election with an iron fist, just like you moderate here on DU.
