The State Fair (pics)
Unfortunately, it rained. Luckily just scattered showers until we were leaving.

Sorry some are blurry. Didn't take my good camera... just used the iphone.

Decided against trying the fried butter... just couldn't do it. The line was too long anyway!

Butterfly Exhibit:

monarch caterpillar:

Art:

The food:

I decided to split a Deep Fried Latte with my husband (it was yummy):

The music:

Livestock:

It was fun. Didn't take any pics of the auto exhibit. There was
a Hybrid Lexus I'd get if I could afford it! :-)

24. The Texas Discovery Garden is permanent and I think the butterfly thing
is also. Fair Park has museums and exhibit halls that are always there, even when Fair is not.

Oh yeah, the classical music radio station is in Fair Park too.

7. Good job. I'm saving my pennies.
I WILL try fried butter. I'm still hooked on the fried PB&J. You didn't ride the Star?

Great pics! I love the broken platter thingie. What's with the yellow flowes flipping everyone off?:)

8. Thanks
Let me know how the fried butter is. I just couldn't justify eating it.
I really enjoyed the butterfly exhibit. Didn't ride any rides this year...but rode the big wheel for the first tine last year & enjoed it.
That sculpture is in the same area as the butterfly garden...it's made of all recycled material. You should see it in person to get the true scale...it's amazing. :-)

23. fyi a quart jar of pennies is $18. we found this out when we were poorer
and wanted to go to the West Side Fall Festival in Evansville,

which begins tomorrow by the way. 150 little fry shacks all up and down the main drag on that side of town.

20. Hadn't been to the fair if 5 years
Our fair day is this Wednesday, but rain in the forecast. I guess I'll save my money for next year. It gets awfully expensive, doesn't it?

Oh, looking for the Texas haters to make some asshole remarks. Give them time.
