There is this girl I work with who is just so beautiful. Long Brown hair with blond highlights...large dark eyes..perfect nose..size two body but not bony,...Yet she has Not at all sexy...its just so weird...so beautiful but just lacking any sex appeal....

And I can't tell you how many times I've seen a beautiful woman, hypnotized by her, then she starts talking and all I want to do is leave the room.

Over the years I've met quite a few people who I thought were drop dead gorgeous but who did not turn me on at all. They were nice people too. Sometimes I'll meet a really good looking guy and I feel exactly the same way as when I see a really beautiful woman. I clearly recognize that he is easy on the eyes but that's about it. Sometimes I think it might have to do with pheremones.

There is inherent beauty in children, elderly people, and things in nature that don't initiate any sexual thoughts.

On the reverse, I have found sex appeal in many men who wouldn't be though of as drop dead gorgeous because there were so many other factors I did like about them. In fact, men who are too pretty kind of turn me off. I shouldn't stereotype because I'm reasonably cute and wouldn't want someone to look at me and think I was a moron because of it (I've experience that), but I'd have to say that overall, I have found in my experience, extremely good looking men to be rather shallow and less than bright. Anyway, in regards to sex appeal, the beauty of his soul and strength of his mind have way to do with things than physical stuff alone.

What I consider sexy is not conventionally beautiful. I like very curvy, slightly chubby women as far as sexual attraction goes. That is not the norm in today's world where only stick thin people are considered sexy or beautiful. I like thin women, too, but nothing turns me on like a lady with some wiggle and jiggle to her.

But I think they have to be quite bad as people. There are pretty celebs with reduced sex appeal: Halle Berry, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Elizabeth Hurley, Angelina Jolie, J-Lo, and Britney Spears to name some. But right now, I can't think of one with NO sex appeal.

20. sex appeal is so much more than just looks

This woman is probably considered sexy to many people, just not to you. There's the chemistry aspect of sexuality and it could be that her pheromones just don't do it for you.

For me, sex appeal drops the second someone says something completely stupid. Intelligence is a strong factor in what I view as sexy. Funny how we all have our things, isn't it? Sexuality is interesting that way.

It's such an odd feeling because you tell yourself "well I should be attracted to this person, what the hell is going on here?"

It happens sometimes. It's also an issue with couples in long term relationships. It's been a looong time since I've read about this, but apparently there are cycles that people go through when they just don't feel as attracted to the other person.

The theory is that your body gets use to their pheromones so there's a point when you just don't feel as attracted to them. But eventually it comes back and it almost feels like the honeymoon stage all over again. Crazy stuff. I've been with my husband for almost 8 years and we've gone through it before.

it's fascinating, no? How someone I can't stop staring at suddenly becomes repulsive by simply opening their mouth, while another that I wouldn't normally think twice about can make me weak-kneed by doing the same thing. :D
