What is It About Feral Cats?
Do feral cats always retain a little bit of their wildness? It seems that they can move their act indoors but they never forget where they came from. My Gracie is a former feral who was brought in the house by a kindly stranger, and I adopted her afterwards. She's well-mannered, affectionate, but not 100% domesticated. I can't quite put my finger on it . . .

I recently met another former feral and the quality leaped out at me. My friend said she had to trap the poor thing because it was starving. But now Missy is content to be a house cat. However, I knew she was a feral.

1. my Riff Raff is half pet/half feral after three years
I took him off the streets as an injured stray when he was about 7 months old. Don't even get me started on his antics. Aw well here is his latest one - I caught him playing patty-cake on the French door window panes with his latest critter pal:

2. My father's cat was a feral
that took months to even pet. Took about a year to coerce him in the house. You could see the feral in him for about two or three years, but they have had him for almost ten years now, and no signs of it remain.

He can stroll through a houseful of strangers and show very little nervousness about it.

However, he still likes to go out and hunt every night. But, a lot of cats like to do that.
