Pears! (pic heavy)
The trees are loaded this year. All the branches are bent towards the ground. Deer have been coming by at night and eating from the trees. There are a lot of half eaten pears on the ground.

1. My dear Cannikin!
Ah...more wonderful pics!

What's the matter with those deer? Don't they realize how wasteful their eating habits are?:P

I especially like the close-up...

Thank you for sharing!

2. Reminds me of my Granny's Pear Tree....
It was on a hill above her house and my Dad and I would climb up to the tree and get pears when we would visit during pear "season". My Granny would then make a pear tart for us. YUMMY!

Miss her pear tree, her cherry tree, but most of all, miss her.

Thanks for bringing back good memories.

5. aw damn, my grandmother had a pear tree too!
She recently had it cut down because it became too much for her to take care of, but I ate dozens and dozens of pears from her tree. It became a problem for her to pick up the tons of fallen pears before she cut the grass, so it was cut down a few years ago. But yes, I have some great memories too of her tree and all the juicy pears I ate!

4. Nice, our Pear tree WAS full this year until a Racoon family got them all!
I hate racoons for this reason. Since the garden is close to the tree, with electric fence, next year I'll be ready.

Weird thing is two or three years we had a bumper crop and made some preserves, I thought we would this year too but when we went out and to check on them they were all gone.
