Poll question: Most cynical genre of music
By "cynical" I mean that the artists cynically use formulaic lyrics and techniques for making songs that are only meant to leech money from fans without furthering music in general.

1. I think Pop, even over Christian
because with Christian, you at least have some that are trying to create music with a heartfelt message. There are no such redeeming qualities to pop ;)

By the way, I don't listen to either type.

2. I can't decide between christian and hip-hop/rap.
I'm talking about modern hip-hop, not the old school stuff.

4. That's a tough question.
A musician boyfriend once told me that he knew some musicians who were involved in Christian music, and in no way were they "christians". It was just a well paying gig.

But Rap is pretty formulaic as well. But then, so is country, and pop, etc....

5. I voted pop, but now that I think about it, Other.
-- anything commercial, designed to be played on the radio.

6. First choice is rap, but "EMO" should be on the list too
And as a Christian, my standard line for "Christian Music" is that putting "Jesus" in a bad song 500 times doesn't make it a good song. It makes it a bad song with 500 Jesus references.
