2. Stereo used to cost a dollar more.
Way back when I was a youngster. $2.99 or heaven forbid $3.99.
Stereo was the new thing at one time. It came right after Hi-Fidelity.

5. I guess you won't be bidding on 8 track collection on ebay.
It'll be worth a small fortune someday.

6. I have some old cart tapes from my time at KPFT (radio).
Any idea what they're worth?

7. Just kidding about the Ebay auction.
I do remember seeing very large cassette tapes at the flea market.
Like 4 times the size of regular cassettes. Not sure what they were used for.

9. Carts used in radio looked more like 8-track cartidges.
Here's a good link with pics:

I have about a dozen carts, but no cart machine. I've also got a nice stack of reel tapes and no reel-to-reel deck.

11. I bet you could find a cart machine on Ebay
and a reel to reel also. I haven't had a reel to reel in
decades the first I owned was a sony but I did have an Ampex? too.

12. At the moment, it's not much of a priority.
Plus, there's nothing on the carts I don't already have digitally. I have considered sending them to one of the guys in negativland, because he uses them during shows. I've talked to Mark Hosler, so he could probably give me a mailing address.

It's an antiquated technology that doesn't have much use other than for experimental music, thus negativland's interest. And I may just take the reels to one of those conversion stores (Indian natives have them all over to convert PAL videos to NTSC) and give them to KPFT for their archives :)

10. I had a Chevy in the late Eighties that had that.
It didn't sound very good, but it sure was stereo.
