The Office of Residential Life has received an official complaint alleging your involvement in a violation(s) of the Arizona Board of Regents Student Code of Conduct. Reportedly on or around August 29, 2009 1:13 AM, at approximately 1:13am you were found to be in the presence of alcohol and excessive noise in Rosewood Hall Room *** within the Barrett Honors Complex. Purportedly you were found by Residential Life Staff in the presence of over 50 cans of Coors Light, a 12 pack of Mike’s Hard Lemonade four of which were unopened, an empty bottle of Andre Champagne, as well as a stolen sign from Rosewood Hall.

Such behavior is in violation of the Arizona Board of Regents Student Code of Conduct, pertinent parts of which are stated below:

5-308 F-4 Violation of, or attempt to violate, other published rules that may be adopted by ABOR or by the university.

5-308 F-14 Misuse, theft, misappropriation, destruction, damage, or unauthorized use, access, or reproduction of property, data, records, equipment or services belonging to the university or belonging to another person or entity.

5-308 F-15 Violation of ABOR or university rules or applicable laws governing alcohol, including consumption, distribution, unauthorized sale, or possession of alcoholic beverages.

Findings of violations of the aforementioned code of conduct may result in disciplinary action against you. You may access the ABOR Student Code of Conduct and Student Disciplinary Procedures at www.asu.edu/srr or you may pick up a copy from the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities.

As a result of this alleged violation of the Student Code of Conduct, you are required to attend a mandatory meeting with Residential Life, Honors Hall, Suite ****. An appointment has been scheduled for you on September 17, 2009 9:00 AM. Should you be unable to keep this scheduled appointment time, please call Residential Life at 480-***-**** to reschedule your appointment.

Failure to respond to this notice may result in more serious university disciplinary action which may include suspension or expulsion.

First off, I didn't steal anything.

Second off, everything else is true.

The man's always trying to bring me down.

11. That was my first thought - I hope the purpose of this meeting is to council him on
his terrible taste in alcohol...

For the OP, that really doesn't sound to bad - just show up on time, smile, and agree with everything they say (but don't admit to anything they can't prove 100%). It might also be a good idea to read over the student code of conduct and any applicable campus policies in advance...

Coors funded the Contras for Chrissakes.

And don't ask who the Contras were whippersnapper.

12. Man, you've got some uptight "Residential Life" assholes there
Getting blasted in college is a national past time. When I was in school the dorm advisor just sat in his room and smoked dope all day in between reading paragraphs from his philosophy text books. I guess that helps you understand that stuff better. Anyway, nobody gave a shit if you were knocking back a few in your dorm room even if it was against the rules.

28. Eh, it's futile we realize
but really, we have to TRY
It's alcohol that is the most dangerous, and accounts for more property damage and deaths than all the illegal drugs combined.

If the entire world smoked pot like God intended, there would be no war.

Do everything you're told and be humble, but downplay the alcohol. This sucks but it isn't the end of the world, merely a call to be more... vigilant when breaking the rules. :D

makes it to a productive adulthood without a record nowadays. The things we were reprimanded for and given a slap on the wrist then (1970's) are things that kids are getting into serious trouble for now.

30. Right age, wrong university.
Get a uni with an ac.uk email address...

Then you won't have this underage drinking nonsense.

Our state unis in NC are just as uptight. No alcohol in dorms.

Plus the age of 21... Not right. Needs to be 18.

Mark.

31. I deal with this all the time in my job. Just suck it up and follow the
rules and all will be fine. Colleges and Universities kick people out all the time, and if you go looking for it, it will happen to you. You got caught, smarten up, be discreet, and move on. But don't do something stupid like trying to make a statement of how it ought to be, the "man" will run right over you and you'll be back home in Junior College. Things aren't like they were 20 years ago, too many Va Techs, etc.

32. They have a problem with underage drinking at ARIZONA STATE?
Certainly nobody goes there for the academics. Kill off the keggers and I can't imagine why anybody'd apply.

Go in and tell them you learned your lesson, and from now on you'll be procuring better liquor (I highly recommend the Liquor Barn in Mesa, they have regional beers I've never seen anyplace else in the western US, $250 bottles of scotch, and everything in between) and indulging at somebody's house off campus, either keeping relatively quiet or talking to the neighbors first to make sure they don't mind a party and will call you rather than the PD if things get out of hand.

33. I hate to be a prude but...
...I was very, very, very, very upset about that story of the fine young man at MIT.

http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/1997/krueger-1001.html

It was such a tragedy, and I really feel for the parents who so loved and were so proud of their son for even getting into MIT.

There really isn't anything good about drinking, tobacco and drugs, or very much that's funny about it.

Call be a prude but...
