I have a 3 hour political science lecture with a french professor that I cannot understand...
In a science lecture room with poor air conditioning and shitty lighting. It starts in an hour.

I just want to sit in the back and do stupid shit to amuse myself. Maybe I'll smoke an entire pack of cigarettes and see how everyone around me reacts. Or maybe I should change seats every 5 minutes. Or maybe I should do stair exercises as she lectures.

Any suggestions?

1. I drew porn pictures, read a book or flicked spit balls at people
Also got me through a lot of staff meetings and commander's calls.

5. Yep, happens from time to time. English's not everyone's first language.
Just think about if Sartre would be your professor (very heavy accent, too.) Would you just tune out and poke your nose or trying really hard to understand? The World is a big place, after all.

4. Is this a tiered lecture hall?
Sit in the back of the class and start rolling stuff down hill. Tennis balls. Full cans of soda. Bowling balls. The heavier the better and the sooner she notices. You could also attach a post it note to the bowling ball telling her she needs to improve in her teaching skills. All in French though.

7. that was one of my problems with calculus
twice - Russian and Chinese - heavy accents

still, I love being in the atmosphere of that sort of thing, love being places where I don't understand the language and even better when there are multiple languages being spoken. I listen anyway. OK, I know I am weird.

13. Oral communication being such a vital component to instruction, you'd think...
that they'd have the common sense to screen candidates for the ability to speak clearly before an audience.

I have the same complaint about a lot of Stallone movies.

I am particularly bad at understanding strong accents because of the sensory issues stemming from my Asperger's.
