I saw this show on the History Channel about the end of the Mayan calendar on Dec 20, 2012
which is also the end of the world - (I guess no one thinks they just ran out of calendar paper)

and the rest of the show was about how there were all these other prophecies that also agree: I Ching, Mother Someone or other, the Bible, and a few more plus some astronomer saying that on that date we would be in complete alignment with the sun, something that happens only every 25,000 years and someone else postulating that we would be sucked into a giant black hole that we had just discovered, and some other guy who plotted all of known history on a chart and it showed up some kind of pattern that also agreed with doomsday and some other person who said the polarity of the earth's axis was just about to shift. All in all, quite interesting and, of course, depressing.

So now I'm feeling exactly like Alvy Singer -"what's the point?"

So, should my husband and I liquidate everything we own and go on a 2 year round the world cruise on the QEII?

1. On Dec 20, 2012, everyone on Earth gets a Slurpee.
Quite the marketing coup, isn't it?

Thank you, come again.

2. According to the History Channel and other places
Nostradamus predicted the end of the world in 2000. Oh and moon cities too. I swear the history channel has gone bat shit insane...

3. Kind of like Y2K to the 10th power.
So, nothing really happened on Y2K, and nothing is going to happen on Dec. 21, 2012. It will be a day like any other.

But the world IS going through a major change (uplifting) of consciousness, and hopefully the forces of darkness are going to be in decline, which will be a new beginning for human kind, and for our globe.

It sure can't hurt to hold that thought....
