IME, when an old ex contacts you, s/he just got dumped or broke up with someone, and is just looking for somebody to build up their damaged ego.

YMMV, of course, but at least, do be skeptical if an ex contacts you out of the blue, after years of no contact.

Everyone I know that's on it has had problems there of some kind, ranging from viruses to malicious information being planted, etc.
