Poll question: BEST NUMBER 2 HIT OF THE LATE 1960s? (Part 2)
Boy, 1967 was a great year for soul music! Look at all the kick-ass R&B records in this poll. Now, which one should I choose...?

4. I went with Soul Man, but I love Chain too
You have the very best polls, NightTrain.

There was a band in Vancouver called the Night Train Review and they still get together a couple of times a year and put on an R&B dance. It is so cool to see all the gray hairs out there groovin'. They still know how - cool. (actually I've got some gray hair too):bounce:

You got time. :) :pals:

edit: Question. How much does it usually cost to take the ferry in a car to the island? I know how much in a rig but not a car or per person.

11. Hey there Charlie
It's about 50.00 one way now for car and driver. Why are you thinking of coming over? You could always stay at my place.:D

I am still at work and it's 6:30!!!!
Actually I am going to a small St. Patrick's day party for a couple of hours. And I will talk to you tomorrow.

Take care
Barbara:D

13. Talk to ya tomorrow and have fun
I knew it costs about $250 Canadian for a big rig. If I had the money I would be up there yesterday. And not just to check out the scenery. :D ;-)

One of my old trucking co-drivers had to go to the island once to pick up a load and that's how I knew.

Take care
Charlie

12. Tres cool
I've always thought the Box Tops were a one-hit wonder. They had at least two!

I didn't vote for 'em though...

"Little" Stevie Wonder for me!

14. Regarding the Box Tops
Here's what they took into the Billboard Top 40:

Aug. 1967 THE LETTER (#1 for 4 weeks)
Nov. 1967 NEON RAINBOW (#24)
March 1968 CRY LIKE A BABY (#2)
June 1968 CHOO-CHOO TRAIN (#26)
Sept. 1968 I MET HER IN CHURCH (#37)
Dec. 1968 SWEET CREAM LADIES, FORWARD MARCH (#28)
July 1969 SOUL DEEP (#18)

As you can plainly see, the Box Tops were NOT one-hit wonders! :)

18. wow
I was between 9 and 11 in that period, and fairly aware of pop music, not having discovered FM yet, and the only title in that list I might recognize is Cry Like A Baby (besides the letter, obviously :) )

you provide such a useful wealth of information around here! :D

thanks! truly

16. Wow! Not a single vote for the Box Tops.
OK, there's some heavy competition, but geez! Not even a single vote for one of the greatest blue-eyed soul records ever made? Color me surprised!
