Online Stocks--Where Can I Get Some?
Okay, off-the-wall question. I want to buy small amounts of stock (a share or two at a time). I don't have thousands of dollars to play with; my initial investment will have to be under $300. So I can't use anywhere that requires an investment of $1000 or more to begin a portfolio.

Where can I go online to start buying stocks?

Trades are $10.99 each. They may have a special for new accounts - like your first 30 trades for free.

I think there are even cheaper online brokers.

2. Here are two possibilities. There probably are others.

There are lots of pros and cons concerning each of these two brokers.

You also might look at this article about DRIPS. http://www.fool.com/dbc/qa/qa13.htm

3. How about zero commissions?
Take a look at: http://www3.netstockdirect.com/search/index.asp

Also, you might consider: http://www.sharebuilder.com/

Hope that helps!

4. Do the research on D.R.I.P.S, direct reinvestment programs
where the companies let you buy stocks directly from them.

(Dividend Reinvestment Programs)

I believe Home Depot is one example.

Start here.
