1. Erm, you meant Strauss's 'Also Sprach Zarathustra,' right?
Though it could be anything that they're attempting.

4. They who can, do; they who can't, teach.
They who admin truly loathes, teach a high school band.

However, credit where credit is due, at least one band member played one correct note -- once.

6. Are you sure they weren't just tuning up? LOL Dang, our Elementary school band
Edited on Fri Sep-04-09 03:19 PM by GreenPartyVoter
did a better job with "Raiders of the Lost Ark" last year than that sounded.

That might also be an Elementary school. No way a high school sounds like that, not even here in the farthest reaches of Maine.

Editing: Ok, my 6th grade saxophonist says no way is that a high school band.

9. It's the "Portsmouth Sinfonia," not a high school band.

Been a fan of them for years.

11. The trumpet section truly made this cringe-worthy.
Edited on Fri Sep-04-09 03:33 PM by nytemare
Awful, out of tune, incompetent, loud, and proud of it. The George Bush of trumpeters. If you listened to the woodwinds in the background, they at least seemed to come close.

Aside from that, do they not tune up before a performance?

On another side note, if your band sucks, or is inexperienced, you have them play something simple without the high notes. Mary had a Little Lamb. Ode to Joy. You can't play the New England Patriots if you're in Pop Warner league, fer chrissakes.

on edit: I just read about who this really was performing this. I suppose this explains how Rhianna and Brittney Spears are so popular. Awful idea.

13. SON-OF-A-BITCH! I used to have perfect pitch before I listened to that.
I've heard Wart-Hogs Farting that would have blown that "Concert" off the stage.

I'll bet the Band Director committed suicide. :)

15. I think that WAS his suicide. At the crescendo, he fell...
on the, ahem, concertmeister's bow.
