my son has his first gig tonight
with his new band. He's just 17 and really excited about playing tonight in Saratoga. He is a dedicated bass player. His adoring mama - me- is a bit nervous for him . They've practiced really hard and they are ready though, so wish him and the rest of the band luck!

6. He will be great, everyone will love them, they will get a big record deal
and he will support his mama in the style you deserve for the rest of your long, happy life.
At least that is the way I see it.

8. From your lips to God's ears!!!!!
As they say. LOL He plans to go to college for music and he'll have to pay off some student loans before he starts to support me, but a major record deal could do the trick!

17. A couple of tips...
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 05:47 PM by section321
aaah... I remember my first gig. I was scared shi&tless. It was in a big club and the stage monitor wasn't working so I couldn't hear myself play. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

1) Unless you have no fear, stagefright is normal. I've had it from the first gig all the way thru to the last one I played.

2) If you make a mistake, play through and forget it. If you recover quickly most people won't even notice, and those that do are probably musicians themselves and will cut you some slack.

3) Have fun! Playing live music is one of the best feelings I know (right below sex and good glass of red wine).

see ya!
