3. I have a great collection of photographs taken during
"Southern Decadence Days" in New Orleans a couple of years ago. They were SO gracious-not a single one turned down my request for a posed photo. Someday, I'll learn how to scan and post pictures and share. They are truly fabulous!

My favorite is the one who "assumed the position" with her arms outstretched to a police car-READY to be frisked!

but I think women look best in womens clothes. (I mean women's clothes look particularly good on women.)

Oh.... and the members of Monty Pythons Flying Circus.

Not that Drag Queens look BAD or anything.

OTOH, I can never dress quite as well in men's clothes as gay guys do. Why is that?

:)

27. I beg to differ
I would love it if I could look as good as some of the drag queens I've seen. Some of them have made me quite jealous, indeed!

12. As long as they have a sense of humor...
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 05:23 PM by Zookeeper
One Halloween on Castro St., many(20+)years ago, I dressed up in a green lame and black lace party dress I inherited from an old babysitter. My accessories were black spike heels and a (fake) moustache. Being a bit of a tomboy it felt like drag to me and I liked the somewhat Dada aspect of a woman, pretending to be a man, dressed like a woman....Some of the actual drag queens were not all that amused, though.

Having lived for 10 years in S.F., I did have a number of friends who were drag queens, but more of my gay male friends didn't do drag.

13. To Wong Fu, With Love, Julie Newmar
Was that the movie where Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo(sp?) dressed up like women for some reason? Anyway, John Leguizamo was absolutely convincing as a woman.

Swayze and Snipes were decidedly not!

14. I hate the bastids
Just kidding. It's just that a lot of em look so much better than me. And not in a drag queen kinda way either, but, like, seamless. Flawless. No giveaway adam's apples, shoulders, bulges, nothing. Amazing.

15. I love 'em, also.
Some of them are simply gorgeous.

I admire the work that goes into doing drag. My (mercifully) one time *I* did drag, it was a lot of work.

30. When I DO dream of you --
and I will; I dream of all my friends -- you'll probably be dressed in chiffon, with outrageous eye makeup & flaming red hair. Or maybe you'll be dressed in mothball-smelling layers of wool and tweed and dropping unceremoniously into the fireplace. ;)
