Napkins for toilet paper.
Cafeteria trays as sleds in the winter.
Plastic garbage bags over the smoke detectors and wet towels under the door when it's time for a joint...

2. Napkins beat what they pass off for toilet paper
When I was in college (over 20 years ago) someone wrote over the toilet paper roll: "Another fine abrasive by 3M".
