Any Emmylou Harris fans?
I'm on a music-buying binge and thought I'd pick up one or more of her discs. Anyone have a favorite they can suggest?

1. All her stuff is good...
Luxury Liner, Blue Kentucky Girl and Red Dirt Girl were favorites of mine.

2. I Love Emmylou
If you're looking for some of her earlier, pure country music I recommend "Blue Kentucky Girl," "Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town," or the "Profile, Vol. 2" collection. One of her first albums, "Elite Hotel" has a cover of "Here, There and Everywhere" that made me fall in love with her voice.

The "Trio" albums with Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton are fabulous!

She did a bluegrass album called "Roses in the Snow" that is one of my all-time favorite albums (by anyone).

Her newer albums are less country, more contemporary. I really enjoy "Red Dirt Girl" and "Stumble Into Grace."

Hope this helps. Emmylou is one of my favorite artists. I've been listening to her music for more than 30 years, and I think she just keeps getting better.

Mrs. V.

3. Her album with Gram Parsons is terrific
Grievous Angel/GP features a number of duets, and her on backing vocals... their version of "Love Hurts" is pretty haunting, IMO.

7. I saw her once
at Lilith Fair in Atlanta. She was a last minute addition, the Indigo Girls were supposed to be there but they dropped.
