"The loud shaking sounds around 10-10:30am and again 2:00-2:30pm each day is construction on the old Columbia Hospital. The construction company is using explosives to excavate the below ground parking garage. Apparently they have run into stone, therefore the need for explosives."
:argh: It would've been nice to have known that three weeks ago, when the explosions began! Fer chrissakes!! :grr:
It figures huh? My boss at the job I worked at last summer was the same way. He didn't let me know we had moved our headquarters until our very first day in our new location.
4. Nope. Columbia Women's Hospital -- and it's closed.
Go figure. DC keeps closing hospitals. I guess they need the money for other things. It sure isn't going to speedy road repairs or inner-city improvements.
Okay, I don't know if Columbia was a public or private hospital. But my mini-rant stands.
DC was built on a swamp. And we're right on the edge of Georgetown & Foggy Bottom -- FB so named because of the fogs that would rise from the river & riverbed swamps.
