My neighbor grills out for lunch almost every day
And fills my apartment with the stink of charcoal ignition fluid. Today is worse than usual: it's burning my nose!

2. Do you at least get yummy barbeque smells later to make up for it?
That person must have plenty of time for lunch.

6. yeah, but as a vegetarian it doesn't really do it for me usually
I don't mind it when there's actual food on it, but I still get to deal with a lot of smoke and lighter fluid fumes. Luckily my window fan has a 'reverse' setting so that helps, but today they must have squirted a whole can of the crap on it.

They're pretty entertaining sometimes, especially if there's a game on: I can hear them getting drunker as they go from being slightly annoying to eventually yelling at each other.

Ah, Queens.

11. I know lots of vegetarians who love grilling.
In fact, I just grilled eggplant for a linguini dish myself last night. Grilled veggies are yummy.

15. I love grilling - that wasn't the point
more that the smell of cooking meat doesn't really excite me any more.

16. Did you read the fucking OP?
I DO NOT USE IGNITION FLUID.

I use this handy electric starter wand.

Seriously, highly recommended if your grill is close to an outlet.

4. If he burns the meat occasionally and still eats it, it's a carcinogen(sp?) so...
stick around long enough and he'll die of cancer.

Not that I want this to happen to anyone but it would solve your problem eventually.

7. Ugh. Why do people pollute their food with lighter fluid?
Get a bag of Stubb's (or another natural charcoal), a chimney and some newspaper. Food tastes much better on a charcoal grill that way.

9. People are too cheap to buy decent charcoal.
My local store quit carrying Stubbs. When I complained to the manager, he asked, "I've sold four bags of the stuff in the last two months, so you can't be buying much of it". I didn't tell him that I'd bought three.

Some people use palm fronds to get their charcoal going.

13. Probably better than newsprint
Especially color newsprint, since the odors are awful.

19. Find a good article about the
carcinogenic effects of lighter fluid, print it out and leave it in their mailbox or under their door.
