did a rather famous version of God Save the Queen with his first band. (What were they called?)

9. gee, I can't recall,
but they certainly would never have been allowed to perform in Ireland in that era...given that you needed a prescription to buy condoms until 1985...

8. nah, let the colonies
have their little day of celebrations.

Ever notice how it's only those with self esteem problems who throw big parties to celebrate themselves? Maybe there's no St. George's day parades because no one needs reminding of the greatness of England.

21. Stockton's Wing are some MASTER musicians!
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 05:19 PM by dbt

Your basic fiddle/whistle/guitar/banjo lineup, but they just play (and sing) the very HELL out of those traditional Irish tunes! Each member was an All-Ireland Champion on his particular axe.

If there were Olympics for musicians, these guys would be Gold medalists.

More here.

25. Bagpipe, Enya, New Age Celtic, and a little "Clancey Bros." All over the
lot, here. But, yeah....I did my "Mad Cow Corned Beef, Irish Soda Bread, Cabbage, Potato's and Carrots"...all of it....

Gotta do it....for American Tradition...I know that they didn't eat this stuff in Ireland..but it's American Tradition...I do it....

And, the music. Evolving each year on "the Music."
