If it doesn't, it's an even worse slight than The Dark Knight in my view, since there will be 10 nominees now, double the normal.

And if that guy who played the main SS officer doesn't get a Best Supporting Actor nom...well then just FUCK the Academy.

11. no, sense!
He makes film geek self-referential movies, with his taste for popular trash culture.

Basically, nothing to do with any semblance of real life as anyone knows it.

of course, escapism is the name of the game in Hollywood, it is what the industry does best. Quentin is just another example of film-makers in love with movies, rather than reality. He is a tarted-up version of escapism, that's all. Shock effect is his only card.

4. I hoping to see it soon, maybe this week.
I've heard it's fantastic. I would love to see Tarantino win for something, after Pulp Fiction was gipped oh, so many years ago to that piece of crap Forrest Gump.
I've never gotten over that year - Pulp Fiction, Quiz Show, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Shawshank Redemption were all nominated, and the George Bush of movies wins.

:puke:

7. I'm hoping the Hurt Locker gets a Best Picture nomination, as well as best actor and director
It's a fantastic movie. It's tense and suspenseful literally the entire movie. I do want to see Inglorious Basterds too, I'm glad that you think it's good.

14. I'm certain it will. There are ten Best Picture nominations starting this year.

Like you said. The rule was made so that films without a prior chance would actually get their moment in the spotlight.

All five films last year, and in recent memory, were clearly pandering to the Academy. Wall-E, the Dark Knight, etc. never even got the chance.

17. It is very well done.
The guy who played "The Jew Hunter" definitely deserves an Oscar. He was fantastic.

The bar scene is one of the best scenes in film I've seen this year.

18. Excellent film, very entertaining. Isn't that what movies are about?
If I want real life, I'll watch a documentary. This was a fun film to watch, but not for the squeamish. Of course what Tarantino flick is?
