You Know, DU Is Kinda Like A Sneak Preview At The Movies
For all the stuff that's going to be in the news in, say, three or four months.

How many times have you seen a story here, from anywhere - and then see it pop up in a major news source weeks, months, down the line.

This place really reminds me of when I used to do movie reviews for a newspaper and I'd get to see the unedited versions of movies before they were finished and sent to the theaters.

It's a shame more media people don't read DU, maybe they'd get more scoops that way.

The problem is, nobody believes if they don't see it on TV. Therefore, they never believe me, or should I say "us" either. That is, until it's too late.

Six months ago, even my own wife thought that I was nuts when I would go on about Dean. Now he's in the news nearly everyday. I get no satisfaction from being able to say "I told you so" to anybody.

I just want our country back from the fascists, then I'll be satisfied.

2. Talk about spouses thinking you're nuts...
My husband -- who's pretty far to the left, but thinks the world is a much less malicious place than I do -- has had to say, 'you know, about six months ago, you were saying ...' several times over the past year.

I don't want to turn him into the conspiracy freak/cynic I am, but at the same time, I do wonder if he ever gets tired of saying, 'you know, maybe you were right.'

3. I made a $500 bet
With my poly sci professor that either (and only) Kerry or Dean was going to defeat Bush in 2004.

She thought I was nuts.

I can't wait to collect my money now.

:)
