16. I went through a divorce awhile ago, and then I met and married my soulmate. It's very hard

to go through, but I always felt that being in an unhappy marriage was much worse. I knew of several in my life and I vowed to never go down that miserable route. I would imagine that you feel relief now that you have your own living space; after all, it is extremely difficult to start making another life psychologically/existentially/practically when you still have to share a space physically.

I felt such terrible loneliness when I was unhappily married -- those were the worst years of my life (in my 20s). Then I met my soulmate (it's a cliched term, I realize, but it does apply in this case!). The one day that I distinctly remember was the day I received the forms from the judge declaring that my first marriage was over. That was it, the end. And I was free.

So there is a lot of hope -- I wish the very best for you -- please keep us updated on how you are doing (if you feel so inclined). Your life -- and not just your loves but also your friends and interests and occupation and living space and where you choose to live -- will all be yours now in a completely different way, and you can find out a whole new world in these things.
