What do you think of My Morning Jacket?
I watched them last night on OnDemand and they were awsome. My son had told me what a great live band they are and he was right.

So, I think I have a new band crush.

2. Yeah, he's excellent. And the base player, too. Lead guitar was a bit
understated from what I saw last night, but it was only like 4 songs.

What blew me away was the jamming. It was very, very powerful.

3. Your son's spot on. I've seen'em a couple times. Amazing live band...
also, you really gotta respect a band that has evolved so quickly over hte course of just a couple albums.

6. I would love to see them in person. And now I'm gonna have to
Edited on Fri Aug-14-09 03:08 PM by DevonRex
go get the other CD, I guess. It sure is nice to be in on the beginning of a great band instead of catching on at the end.

4. Amazing band....
So few bands blend the old and classic with the new and inventive, but these guys manage to. And like you said, live shows are their best feature. The records are good as well, but don't fully do them justice.

7. I even liked the head banging, amazingly enough. It was almost like
watching a single organism on stage with the movement and the music.

5. I've only heard a couple of their songs, but thought they were real good
I'm 58 and out of the loop more than I should be; I long ago made a promise to myself to never allow myself to become a musical dinosaur... I'll have to get on you tube today and check out more of their stuff, and try to go see em if they ever make to Albuquerque ( between here and Santa Fe, we actually get a lot of good bands coming through, but also get bypassed too; can't recall if they've ever been here).

8. I'm doing the same thing today, trying to find some YT stuff.
I'm amazingly picky when it comes to bands. I bet you'll like what you find.

9. Try and find this...
Their performance of One Big Holiday on Conan a few years back was what blew me away enough to start checking them out.
