F$%^*^% Discovery Channel destroys a Hammond M-3 organ!
Damn American television to hell!

About halfway through the clip. Discovery Channel used to be intelligent. Now it's almost as stupid as the rest of the TV landscape. Fucking asswipes! Even if it was a parts organ it's worth saving, they destroyed perfectly good percussion tab switches (that ass'y fits the B-3 and siblings), run motor and vibrato scanner, playing keys...grrrrrrr!

1. Destroying any instrument is sacrilege IMO.
I just never got the meaning behind smashing a perfectly good guitar all over the stage.

3. I kind-of cringe at Keith Emerson's mangling of L-100's
though I love the scarifying wails he got out of the little organ. However, the expressionistic sonic barrage need not come at the expense of the instrument's lifespan, power-cycle wails and reverb tank crashes do not require beating the instrument to a pulp. Sometimes a given Hammond L-100 wouldn't survive one ELP show at the peak of his L-100-wrestling days, the factory would give him a deal on them, since he was driving sales and Mr. Hammond (who hated Leslie speakers and rock music) was retired by that point.

2. If any of the Discovery channels would just back to their roots,
they'd be fine channels worth watching again. That is, they'd be truly educational instead of yet another excuse for

EXTREME LIVING!!!1!!!

;)

However, I did enjoy seeing Keith Emerson's "use" of a Hammond organ :P

7. sick and stupid
One thing to trash modern crap like a biog screen TV. They keep making those.

I used to own an M-3. Not a B3 of course but still one hell of a fine instrument.
