If DU were to shut down, what would you do?

I was thinking earlier tonight about this site I used to hang out on back when I was a teenager. I spent a great deal of time there for about a year or so and had this group that I regularly chatted with. The site was shut down years ago and so has the IRC server that we used to chat on. I think at one point I had their e-mail addresses but I've since lost them. They've all switched AIM screen names since then, I presume, on account of the fact that I haven't seen them on AIM. Thus its been 8 or 9 years since I've really talked to any of them.

Anyway, if DU were to shut down do you think you would still manage to keep in touch with people here?

9. I enjoy the lounge. There was a time when I

was addicted to the main pages & didn't visit the lounge, but a lot of those people have gone off the deep end making the lounge seem positively sane, LOL. I already miss the 'old DU', so if it were shut down, it wouldn't be as painful as it would've been before, I guess. I definitely miss being able to have differing opinions and discussions/arguments without everyone assuming you're a freeper or some shit if your opinion strays at all from "The Only Accepted Opinion You're Allowed To Have Now on DU". LOL.

10. I would be pretty bummed. It's where I get most of my news.

I really like this site, the people here, the way it functions - just most everything about it. If it went away, I would be bummed. I am sure I would move on but I already compare other sites to this one and I know that would continue - unfavorably to them of course.
