If someone jumped bail on felony charges...
... and paid off the bondsmen, but is still a fugitive, and the state won't go after them where they're at...

Could you legally hire a bounty hunter to apprehend them and take them back to the state where they committed the crime?

Say... First degree forgery committed in Alaska, and they're in Florida.

1. Bounty hunters hunt for bounty. Put a price on his apprehension
and yeah, in most states, you can legally do it. A private detective might be cheaper and more likely to work ethically and within the bounds of the law.

2. Your best bet would be to befriend an FBI agent
They might help out even more.
