I don't know what came over me. I suddenly started weeping.
I am so tired of everything. I keep on hoping things will improve, but they don't.

I feel totally hopeless :(.

3. I've often wondered
"if there's *reason* to be depressed, is it clinical?"

Seriously, there's little detail in your post, but the language does sound like there may be need to consult your doctor.

Hope things are better soon!

:hi:

4. No clinical reason - just a combination of bad luck and assholes.
Until they find a medical remedy for that, I am stuck with the blues.

7. I have been there, Sannum. I'm there now, and
I know how you feel.

The only consolation is that nothing stays the same.... and I have made huge efforts to work on positive thinking so I don't go insane. I have a tendency to be cynical and pessimistic - and have found it is at least a mood elevator to think positively.

Don't "hope". Believe and know it. Sounds like smarmy crap from "The Secret" but you do almost have to trick yourself into BELIEVING things are better. Not going to be better, but ARE better.

It at least keeps the worst feelings of despair away.

8. I have learned to change what I can in ny life that is bad
I do not hang around people who I do not like.

I try to be positive.

I have been where you are with your feelings.

Sometimes bad things happen, I just deal with them.

Hope everything gets better for you.

9. Obama is PRESIDENT!
The time for weeping was 2000-2008. I was weeping w/ you. Now it's celebrating time. If we channel all the DU weepers into a vocal mob, we will vastly outnumber the angry old racists shouting people down.

15. I bet a man is behind this
Am I wrong? ;-)

I'm not making light of your situation. Not one bit.

Here is a song to cheer you up:

Sheryl Crow - "It Don't Hurt" - 1999 - best live version I've seen yet. Lyrics

16. how long have you felt
'totally hopeless" and "so tired of everything". . .

if it's been going on a while - possibly getting worse (as evidenced by the weeping), I would go see my doctor. A thorough physical might be in order, and/or referral to a therapist to help you through any problems/issues you may be having.

There is a Mental Health/Depression forum on DU. It doesn't get a LOT of traffic, but it does get some.

18. I'm sorry you feel so bad.
I feel the same, I just lost my fiancé. Heart break is never easy to deal with, it seems like it takes forever to heal. but we do. What helps me out is I see my ex as a friend and only a friend, I care very little for who she sees or where she goes. She wants to be a part of my life because of my kids, they too feel the heart break, so I'm stuck in the middle and I fight the feeling of longing for her every day. I hope my words will help you, just written them have help me thanks.
