Home alone!
Our house got cased this afternoon. A road crew saw 2 "creepy" guys drive into our driveway while we were gone and walk around the house, go into the garage (my door is broken), leave then come back only to scramble out of there when my son pulled up. They called the sheriff but he was too late. Now it is dark and I am home alone. EEEK! The dogs are in with me but I am scared! I feel so pitiful. :scared:

1. are your dogs large?
If so do they bark? Keep them close to the door - that should stop anyone. If they are small the moment you hear any noise call 911 and say in a very loud voice "Police????? Help!!!!
hopefully that will do it

2. A Lab, a Golden
and a small pound pup who would be the one to protect me. This is the only time I have ever wished I lived in a real neighborhood!

3. You are lucky to have the "barkers"
with you. They will protect you. Uhh..were they there when the prowlers came the 1st time?

4. Yes, they
were in the back yard. It is so odd that they would case the place with dogs barking and a road crew out there. Our neighbors are not too close. Really, I am not terrified but people are so desperate these days and this city is a horrible place for crime. Good grief, nothing is more pitiful than a 50 year old woman locked up tight in her house trying to watch a funny movie. One of the dogs is farting and I want to put her out! This is hysterical.

9. Well I guess I am pitiful too, then.....
I am close to 50, female, with 3 dogs here tonight. One is barking now. But my neighborhood is very safe as far as crime goes. What city are you in?

5. Police are there to help...
Try calling them, and ask if they can send someone around periodically to check on things. They probably won't mind at all...

I really am OK, just a little nervous and if this darned dog does not stop stinking up the place I am going to have to put her out!

7. Start soaking some spaghetti in water now....

8. Maybe I should
just give them my stinky dog! It is driving me out so it might work.

10. I would lend you Dan the Newfie mix

but he is as we speak resting in the garage. He has a mean bark, and the heft (120 lbs.) to go with it, but sadly once he realizes you may want to pet him he turns into a giant wuss.

He is not gaseous, however, which is a plus. :)

Sending you telepathic safe thoughts...

11. Hey thanks!
Yes, that is the same with my two big dogs it is the little one that will take you! I am certain I am safe and will be OK, I am not sure why this freaked me out. I work way out in the country in the dark all by myself and that is probably where I would be at most risk but it does not bother me there. This is just darned strange. Thanks, I am glad for this place where I can write and read and keep my mind busy.
