1. My own vote - just the fact that I get them
:(

The aura sucked - weird visual crap nearly making me blind.

Started to get nauseous so I knew I'd have to take a pill.

Now I feel all light-headed and hungover but no headache, thank goodness!

I can never decide which is worst.

2. I don't get them very often and no insurance so I've never had an official diagnosis
or tried any meds but what I hate other than all of it is the whole day being wasted, either in pain or in bed.

3. I had to go with the aura
The second time I took sumatripton to treat a migraine, the aura lasted way too long. I was afraid I might just go insane and prayed for the headache to come. I can sleep with the headache but it's impossible to do anything with the aura but suffer it.

4. I'm so glad I don't get migraines as often as I used to.

I get maybe one or two a year. Not sure why they've almost disappeared but I'm more than thankful.
I would have such pain that I really wanted to repeatedly hit my head against the wall. Anything to make the pain stop and as strange as it sounds when I was in the middle of a migraine it felt like that might help.

5. Haven't had a migraine in years, thank goodness, but when I did
have one, I just felt like I wanted to die.

7. I said all of the above but
I also hate the facial and arm numbness. The aura causes a blindness, then I can't use my left arm or the left side of my face. The headache is excruciating and then there's the nausea/vomiting. Migraines are completely dibilitating. The first time i had one my family thought that i was having a stroke (at age 27).

9. I was about the same age
I was home alone with my small kids and the aura kicked in. I had no idea what it was and by the time I realized I had to call for help, I could not see to find the number of a doctor or hospital. I called my sister by feeling for the numbers on the phone and she called my doctor who called me.

It was terrifying and it still is scary - I hate that they call migraines "headaches." It's like calling a stroke a dizzy spell. :eyes:

8. The kind of pain that makes you want to cut your head off.
I don't get the aura, but nothing relieves that stabbing pain.

I take Imitrex at the first sign of a headache coming on. I have been taking it since 1994. Before then, it was just lie there and suffer.
