A documentary about the planning and execution of the stunt came out last year, and won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. It's a pretty interesting movie.

There's also a children's book that came out a few years ago. It has really great illustrations (and deservedly won a Caldecott Medal).

Anyone here who has seen the movie? Or perhaps remembers the event?

2. I saw the documentary. I thought it was incredible.
I only have a vague memory of the actual event, though. I was only about five or so...

6. For any who subscribe to NetFlix the movie is available to watch online for free.

I have it in my queue to watch the streaming video, so perhaps today is a good day to do that. I use a Roku digital video player (http://www.roku.com/what-to-watch.aspx?utm_source=google_medium=ppc_campaign=New%20-%20Roku%20Variations&gclid=CL2k9O6HlJwCFRkMDQodXWl3eg) to watch my Netflix streaming videos on my 50" plasma and they look great. I can also use the Roku to rent online streaming movies from Amazon (tonight I'll watch the movie "Taken" for $1.99).
