My family are going to take the cog train to the top of pikes peak
This is our staycation and we are going this saturday. It's very high and the cog train makes it possible to get up there! I have been wanting to ride this train ever since I knew it existed. Here is more info on the train. http://www.cograilway.com/history.htm

2. Did that around 30 years ago --
fantastic ride and even better view at the top! I went when it was stil snowing, so I mostly saw white across the distance, but I forget how many states you can see into from up there -- flat as a frickin' pancake right off the Rockies. The air is thin up there, so go easy.

Have fun, you will love it! :hi:

5. We took the cog train up Mt Washington part way...
It was too windy to go to the summit.

It was a great ride; but just to warn you, if your windows are open, the hot cinders can blow in and make you very uncomfortable. Goggles would be a good idea...

Have a blast! :hi:

7. Cool
Would love to do that someday. I have done the Canadian Rockies which are too steep for trains of any sort:
