Can I just say that my cousin is one of the greatest people on the planet?

Seriously, I just gush about her because she is one of the greatest friends/relatives anybody could ever hope for.

She's actually a distant relative who basically adopted me as her "little cousin". We've got tons in common - we're both bisexual feminist musical theatre nerds with psychological "issues". I've been having a hard time with my anxiety lately and she's been so awesome and supportive about it all. She has bipolar disorder, so I guess she's "been there, done that".

Last week, I had a doctor's appointment that didn't go so well - essentially, I was prescribed anxiety meds after I burst into tears in my doctor's office, which made me feel like I had been manipulative. I was ranting to my cousin on the phone about it, and she made me feel much better about the whole thing. Then, I mentioned that I had to get bloodwork done later that day, and I have a needle phobia...and my cousin actually offered to go with me. She distracted me the whole time, which helped me to freak out significantly less than I would have if I went alone.

So, in short, my cousin is awesome and everybody should have someone like that in their lives. :)

If you need the anxiety meds then you aren't being manipulative. You need them. You had an anxiety attack. It's not a big deal. I'm glad it worked out. :hug:

I'm glad she was there to help distract you during the blood work too. :)

Everyone should have family and friends in their support network. Nobody should go through stress alone.
