12. If you do have cancer, and that is a big if, you will get excellent treatment (the treatment for
colon cancer is very advanced and solid now, with tremendous cure rates) and there will be support groups, etc. that can provide help. I was myself diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer in the MIDDLE of a semester (I am a former professor) and I had to leave immediately, while classes were still in full swing. Your own health comes first, before anything. IF you do have cancer, and there are many other things you could have, it does tend to work that way -- on its own clock, not on ours -- at least that is what I found out.

Good luck with your tests. Take it one day at a time and try not too stress to much. Something I recently saw Dr. Mehmet Oz say "Remember to breathe. The breath is our natural metronome." I thought that was really great advice.

A  for you! Take care!

22. So sorry, greenbriar. Keeping you in my thoughts.... and praying for good news.
I know exactly how you feel about school. Whenever anything happens, the first thing I think of is whether they can get a sub for me. Then I wonder how can I get plans to the sub.

Focus on your own health, OK? None of us is indispensable. If you have to miss school, there will be a sub. And the sub will do an adequate job. Now, breathe.... and keep telling yourself, "It's going to be OK...."

30. You have to take care of yourself (this is one thing I have learned)
Rest and do whatever you have to do to take care of yoursef. See your doctor again if your medication is not effective. Don't be afraid to seek out medical help and to baby yourself as much as you need to -- this is crucial for your well-being.

35. Where are you, Greenbriar? What hospital is doing these tests?
Do you have health insurance? You need to take control of this and make sure you get a second opinion (even if the biopsy is negative) and maybe a 3rd. I have had a good bit of experience with friends with cancer who have had to navigate the system so feel free to PM me.
