The whole point of the Watchmen is that they are people with realistically portrayed problems, and I certainly know I could identify with certain things characters were feeling or going through. It's just written that well. So for those of you who enjoyed the Watchmen, whether book or movie, which character's experiences and personality spoke to you the most?
A. The Comedian: You've seen the true, savage face of humanity, and cope by becoming a parody of it. You are harsh, brutal, and cruel, because that's what the world is. You think of everything as a joke, but not the funny kind of joke. You understand human nature perhaps better than anybody else, and that's what's made you such a callous cynic.
B. Rorschach: Like the Comedian, you understand the savage nature of humanity, but you choose to cope with it by trying to make a difference. You used to be fairly moderate, but some of your worst experiences have made you into an unhinged hardliner. You have an absolutist, black-and-white view of the world, and there is no room for compromise. You handle even the most dangerous situations with ruthless efficiency, and are greatly feared by those who dare to challenge you.
C. Silk Spectre II: You just want a normal life, but secretly you miss your adventurous superhero days. You have trouble coping with realities in your past that you've been in denial of for years. You come to realize that love and hate aren't as simple as they seem and become a much more mature person for it. In the end, your desire to adventure and helps others wins out over your stated love for 'ordinary life.'
D. Nite Owl II: You're pretty much an ordinary guy. You REALLY miss being a superhero, but you are afraid of being unable to protect the people you care about. The seemingly inevitable impending nuclear war only makes this feeling worse. As long as you continue to be afraid of your own strength, you will be unable to help anybody, least of all yourself.
E. Dr. Manhattan: You are completely unable to relate to people. You almost entirely devoid of emotion, and your lack of feeling makes it difficult for you to communicate with others. You come across as aloof and callous, and the Comedian even accuses you of not caring about humanity at all. Being a god is tough, isn't it?
F. Ozymandias: You are incredibly intelligent, and you believe it is your destiny to change the world. You have the potential to do things both great and terrible. You are a master strategist, and always plan for the long term. You have no qualms about eliminating obstacles with extreme prejudice, and it would seem you are rarely truly caught off guard...
