I even spoke to a supervisor and they won't turn it on for the 14 hours I will be here without a phone.
Assholes. I have no car that runs and no phone and I'm here with my son.

1. Is there anyone you can IM or email if you need something?
That's how I keep in touch with my daughter to save $$$.

Also, I think they still have to let 911 emergency calls go out even if your phone is disconnected. At least that used to be the law.

2. 911 works from any cell phone
regardless if it has service.

No service - Home

I know 911 is *supposed* to work, but if it says no service I think that means no service.
I hope I'm wrong.

EDIT: Ok, now it *finally* says service. I have horrible reception, I should have known.
Thanks..

5. it's an FCC regulation
your ESN isn't connected to a carrier network as such, but it can connect to emergency services in your location.

7. *08, 999, 112, and 911 will work in many cell phones
just make sure it is charged.

you can even test it too.

just dial and tell them you're sorry, that your kid was messing with the phone.

8. Just in case you need it.
You can reach 911 online if you don't have a phone. Heaven forbit you need it, but if you can't get through on your phone, there is this.
