1. Little car-shaped erasers.
Those were cool. I never actually used them to erase anything, but they were cool.

3. New pens.
I must have inherited the 'new pen' gene from my father, but for some strange reason, I just love getting new pens.

And I am extremely particular about the type of pen, ink, etc.

4. Crayola 64-pack crayons, with the little sharpener in the back of the box.
I loved those exotic colors..... Prussian blue, maize, cerulean. That was back before they changed the color names.

That thing was wicked cool, compared to plain old 3-ring binders.

17. here's a TV ad
It was a fancy 3-ring biner that held "Trapper" folders that didn't allow papers to fall out as easily.
It has a sliding lever to open the rings smoothly, and a Velcro flap the held everything shut.

Lori Laughlin expains in the this ad from the 80s: :)

10. Bic "click" pens
In 5th grade we had a "sport" we invented of modifying them, stretching and adding springs to see how high we could make them jump off the desk. :D

15. or pen guns...
we used to shoot each other with bic click pens...sometime around 5th grade someone learned you could use it to launch some mother's knitting needle 5 feet and that was the end of that...they banned all "clicking pens or anything containing a spring school-district-wide.

16. never thought of that
My friend managed to shoot one high enough to stick in the ceiling. We thought we were toast, but Mrs McCracken just made us collaborate and write a story, "The Great Lincoln County Pen Jumping Contest"

The regular Bic pens were cool too, if you stopped up the hole on the side and pulled the guts out, they made a neat spit wad airgun

24. Those erasers that went over the end of your pencil ...
... after you'd used up the one the pencil came with. My erasers never seemed to last as long as I needed them to.
