We have 'American gold finches' and gold finches here.We call them 'farmer birds' for their loving care of the sunflowers. Noticed they will remove the brown part of flower centers once the seeds are formed. Seems to hasten the ripening of the seeds. They only do a little patch on each flower.

They also plant seeds. Our yard is a forest of sunflowers.

6. It looks like a female lesser goldfinch.
The female has under-tail coverts that are yellow vs. white and both sexes have very small white patches in their wings and tail. Hope that helps!
