is a yellow piece of paper with a huge "STOP" sign with,

"Don't return this to the store-- call customer service first."

Inspires confidence, eh?

The printer, a Samsung color laser on sale for $130, installed without a hitch and works perfectly, but I did wonder for a while what I was in for.

2. Office Max, and the sale ends today, I think, and...
the toner refills are normally half price, around 40 bucks. Dunno if there are cheaper refill kits online.

BUT...

the trick is that toner cartridges don't have the roller built in-- there's a semi-permanent roller in the printer that has to be replaced after about 10,000 pages or so. More often if it gets screwed up. I discovered this after reading the manual.

This shouldn't be a problem, but I got screwed by a Kodak inkjet that advertised cheap ink refills but didn't advertise that the cartridges didn't have printhead like other printers do, but are just ink packages that plug into a permanent printhead. Needless to say, just after the warranty ran out it stopped printing red. Then it stopped printing black. Then I tossed it.

So, I'm a little nervous, but I should get well more than 130 bucks worth of use out of it. My old B/W Samsung laser printer is still going strong after many years, so I'm hoping they still build stuff to last.
