4. I think you could consider it a lounge, coffee shop, bar

front porch or water cooler.

It's a place for all the DUers to hang out and shoot the breeze, joke, share one's problems, look for advice, engage in water cooler talk etc. There is enough intense discussion in the many of the other forums, this place is a great break from that. Plus with out any real issues to debate it's a chance to all be on the same side.

That's where I am coming from. For the most part the debates here in the lounge are mostly over trivial issues. They lack the seriousness and impact of issues debated in the other forums. Who is President or what bill passes through Congress has far more impact on our lives than who likes Jazz or Deep Dish Pizza. So disagreements and debates can be more fun and silly. It's far easier to break the tension with a joke or simple agree to disagree.

I didn't bring up that thread, or SA's post, in the slightest. I asked for clarity on why the linked post has any bearing on this conversation. Obviously, someone thinks there's a connection. I don't see it so I asked, without malice, what one has to do with the other.

Apparently, you take issue with that. If you think I'm trying to undermine your thread, you're incorrect in your assumption. I gave a fairly simply explanation further up regarding the purpose lounge. And I honestly don't see the connection with the thread and post mentioned above to this conversation.

When I first came here it was a place I came when i was going through my own private hell and cried out for a caring ear,advice,possibly a friend.
I found all of the above.
Now I don't know what it's for. :shrug:
I guess it's for the next round of duers to complete another cycle.
You know spam,joke,partake in a bit of drama,make friends,make enemies and then slowly fade away and make room for the next cast of characters to re-start the cycle.

I still have very dear friends who are here(rarely now days).
I just don't have as much to say.
I've stared at this board for hours and couldn't find a thread that i wanted to reply to.
