1. It must be the bad economy to blame
The original creators trying to make some quick bucks off of stuff that they own or have sold the rights to.

2. If people would just stop going to see this stuff...
it would cease being an issue. Whatever the market will bear, right? I don't get it either... especially the TV stuff. Like Dukes of Hazzard & Charlie's Angels... uck uck uck uck uck.

I hardly ever go to the movies anyway. It's so expensive.

3. Darren Aronofsky is slated to direct Robocop...
So while I am generally averse to remakes, my interest is somewhat piqued for that one.

5. I know right?
Robocop = badass. Aronofsky = badass. One of the few remakes with good movie potential.

6. Red Dawn??? AWESOME! Will the bad guys be them there A-rabs instead of godless commies?
Hope they film it in New Mexico again...my old roommate's junior high gets blasted to smithereens by the Russkies in an opening scene; says he never gets tired of watching that.

9. LOL. That's awesome.
But it's the Chinese this time. I must admit Red Dawn is one of my guilty pleasures because it's the stereotypical "bad 80s movie." I'm not so sure it will be that good this time around with that element lost.

11. Aren't creative types like writers, producers, directors supposed to be, well you know, creative?
What is creative about remakes of 2 b-level films such as these?

12. Just one of the many reasons I hated that piece of right-wing crapola "Red Dawn":
They used mock-ups of Soviet tanks, instead of the real things, which they could easily have borrowed from Israel or one of the several South American nations that fields Soviet-made tanks.

Stupid, I know, but the real thing is red meat to ex-tankers like me... B-)

13. A friend of mine was in the 82nd
and he refuses to watch Aliens because they wear WWII era helmets with the dangly neck protector thing on the back. Drives him crazy.
