Trying to figure out a song

A friend has desperately been trying to figure out this song for weeks. Well, maybe not DESperately. But he'd like to know.

The only part of the lyrics I can remember is "This is war, boy. This ain't no drill." Sounded vaguely political, and almost like early 70's pop ala Hudson Bros., but not quite. Upbeat song. Lead singer was a guy with a pretty strong voice. Any ideas?
