my wifes parents now officially hate me

some background.I dated my wife for years growing up and we had planned to get married but her family and lack of jobs in my area messed those plans up.

Twenty years later she hired a PI to find me and low and behold we have been happily married for 5 years...and her family still hates me.

Her family has had me put in jail for something I didn't do...told her so many lies about me I couldn't keep up...and finally her father a few years ago told her it was all because he knew I would never amount to anything and he was protecting her.


NOW we have been living in the NEW 1700 square foot place for about a month now...you know...the place worth more than all there houses COMBINED... the place with two fireplaces and all energy star rated appliances..from the money I saved from the ONE job I have held since I moved here that pays more than any member of her family makes..while minding my business and staying home and caring for my property while they all get drunk and go to jail or lose their jobs.


FEELS GOOD to let that out and go nyah nyah to her family :toast:

4. it REALLY feels good to let that out

her family has treated me SO FUCKING BAD and now they want to be buddies because they want things from us.The wife laughs at them when they ask for money now and reminds them that I am some lowlife that will never have money according to them.

It just feels good to put into words the stuff that has been boiling inside me.I've been called a lowlife loser who is bad for her to my face by her family and now they come to us asking for money.

I feel like the damned Godfather right now ;) I get to choose if a certain member of her family loses his car...I'm the only one who has the money to catch up the payments...I think he's gonna lose his f150...hell I may buy it at auction just to piss them off


edit on the buy his truck thing...no one in her family has ever made more than like 30k in a year...now that I have the wifes head screwed on straight we should each make close to 50k..I have been offered his truck if I would pay the bill but I think letting him eat the credit hit and buying it for pennies on the dollar is a better ending.

Moral of the story...don't piss off a Detroit boy who can make your life miserable :hippie:

13. Keep it up - I'd buy the damn truck and just let it sit and rust.

My first wife's family tried their best to screw me out of every dime they could, while bad mouthing me because I was not their brand of "christian". They said they were so poor, yet the family owns maybe 45 rental houses and part interest in a local amusement park. They are seriously racist and poisonously religious. I am happy to be away from them every time they cross my mind.

Good luck - keep them at a distance.
FWIW, watch out for sneaky things like them billing things to your name.....

14. Here's another dude's similar situation - NOT a suggestion for following

This guy tells people that his mother-in-law disapproved of him for years on grounds similar to the o.p. He was an electrician and went on to own his own business and gain financial success. She grudingly accepted him but nothing was ever forgotten by either of them.

So he says that at her deathbed, he stood there and said crap like, "Do you remember how you said I'd never amount to anything and that I wasn't good enough for your daughter? Well, I (did this, did that, made this much), and lent money to your no-good sons to get their asses out of trouble... I guess I showed you, didn't I."
