What did you think?

The premise was OK, and it was even watchable until that execrable, atrocious, incredibly STUPID ending. Lots of holes, but bearable until the last 5 minutes or so.

Anyway, what did everyone else think?

1. No..not yet...I think I have it set to record on the DVR tomorrow night
I have been downloading the Torchwood mini series that has been airing on BBC this week, converting them to DVD and watching them after the Red Sox games are over.

So far it is excellent, can't wait for tomorrows episode

4. They dumbed down the name to reflect the dumbed down programming
I watched Warehouse 13 but fell asleep at the end. I should have watched the rebroadcast tonight, but was watching something else (and I keep falling asleep still).

Warehouse 13 looks like a mix of The X Files and that oddball Noah Wylie series of movies, The Librarian: Quest for the Spear, Return to King Solomon's Mines, and The Curse of the Judas Chalice. It could be fun, I just want to see how they build on the premise and if they get a good set of characters. I like Mrs. Frederic, but I have always liked CCH Pounder a lot.

7. a serious answer
Because they were stupid enough to name their network after a generic term they could not get control of desirable domain names.

So they made up a word and trademarked it and now they can control all the syfy websites.

To me, it sounds like it's short for syphilis. The channel sucks and has sucked for some time. This just completes their sucky voyage.

9. Ha ha! Syphilis was the first thing I thought of too when I saw the name!!
I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those MBA marketing decisions that will go down in history with New Coke and Sarah Palin.

3. Reminded me of "Friday the 13th-- the Series"...
and a few others, like "Special Unit 2"

I like the characters, but I suspect they're gonna try to save money on writers and really, really piss me off with incredibly stupid plot holes and mistakes. "Leverage" and "Royal Pains" gobsmacked me with that sort of bad writing, and this looks like it's going that way.

5. It was blah
I wanted to love it because I love Saul Rubineck and CCH Pounder but the pilot left me feeling meh.

The two leads were likable and almost interesting. However, I think that already, there's a whole lot wrong with the "mythology" of the show. The warehouse doesn't make sense. If they have this purple goo that can neutralize the crazy objects then why don't they store everything in purple goo? The art directors evidently want to give the program a steampunk feel but the gimmick just doesn't work. Maybe if they had set the story in an earlier time period it would work but the mix of the modern with quasi-Victorian era props ain't jiving with me.

And yes, the story got super lame and what is with the dead ex-partner guy? Too much going on.

I'll give it some more chances but so far, I'm not too happy.

6. For us who find fantasy more interesting than reality..
shows...it was fine. Was it high quality programing?...No..
I'm waiting to see the pieces of the spaceship Jimi Hendrix
crash landed on Earth in...on one of the warehouse shelves.

8. I'll give it a couple of more tries
seems to be an X Files rip-off. I like the male lead, not so much the female though. We'll see.

i do not watch much tv but the previews had me hooked and i made this a "have to"
tv event.

Could it have been better

also yes, very much.
