Otherwise, smell it. If it doesn't smell like vomit, it is probably okay. Feed it to someone you don't like and wait 12 hours. If they aren't dead, go ahead and eat it.

Standard refrigerator rules, you know.

I don't see what viable has to do with you eating it. Unless you are waiting for it to reach puberty first.

As far as it being edible goes, of course it's edible. Just remember that refrigeration is only a modern invention. Humankind lived for thousands of years without it. Imagine all the rancid food people ate prior to the development of the refrigerator.
